Frequently asked questions

How is the brick count estimated?
The calculator subtracts the single rectangular opening from the gross wall area, divides the net face area by the entered brick-and-joint module, and applies waste before the whole-brick purchase ceiling. Row counts use the gross wall geometry.
How is mortar volume estimated?
Approximate mortar volume is the net wall volume at the entered brick depth minus the unrounded brick volume. Product dimensions and field conditions vary, so treat the result as a planning value.
What inputs do I need to enter?
Enter gross wall dimensions, one rectangular opening in the selected wall unit, all three brick dimensions, mortar-joint thickness, and waste. Openings beyond the single entered rectangle, bond pattern, cuts, breakage, and mortar depth require a project takeoff.
