Nutrition tools organize the numbers behind daily intake: resting energy needs, macronutrient splits, protein references, and food and drink ledgers. The calorie calculator estimates resting energy expenditure only, while the macro calculator turns age, body size, activity, and goals into a daily calorie target split into protein, fat, and carbohydrate grams. For single-nutrient questions, the protein calculator applies adult reference contexts to body weight. The caffeine calculator totals intake from serving assumptions and labeled amounts without judging safety. Every result is an estimate or arithmetic reference, not a prescription: real needs vary with tracking accuracy, training, and medical context. Find more food and body tools in the Health collection.

Frequently asked questions
- Which protein references does this calculator apply?
- It keeps two contexts separate: the adult DRI population reference of 0.8 g/kg/day, and the healthy-exercising muscle context of 1.4–2.0 g/kg/day for most healthy exercising individuals specifically when building or maintaining muscle mass. The upper endpoint of the exercising range is not preferred or universally needed.
- How does it convert pounds to kilograms?
- It uses the exact factor 0.45359237 kilograms per pound, then applies the selected coefficient without rounding the converted weight. Only the displayed protein endpoints are rounded to whole grams; the kilograms used are shown with at most one decimal place.
- Who should not use these reference calculations?
- This worksheet is not intended for children or adolescents, pregnancy or lactation, illness, clinically managed protein intake, prescribed diets, or individual kidney, liver, or other clinical decisions. The results are population-reference calculations, not an assessment of individual need or suitability.
