Which protein references does this calculator apply?
It keeps two contexts separate: the adult DRI population reference of 0.8 g/kg/day, and the healthy-exercising muscle context of 1.4–2.0 g/kg/day for most healthy exercising individuals specifically when building or maintaining muscle mass. The upper endpoint of the exercising range is not preferred or universally needed.
How does it convert pounds to kilograms?
It uses the exact factor 0.45359237 kilograms per pound, then applies the selected coefficient without rounding the converted weight. Only the displayed protein endpoints are rounded to whole grams; the kilograms used are shown with at most one decimal place.
Who should not use these reference calculations?
