Latest update:
These food tools cover the cases that do not fit a recipe or a party plan. When you are cooking meat, the steak cook time calculator estimates grill and pan-sear timing from thickness and doneness, and the turkey cooking time calculator turns a bird’s weight into a 325°F roasting schedule backed by thermometer-based food-safety guidance. On the nutrition side, the carb calculator estimates an adult carbohydrate reference range from a Mifflin-based calorie scenario, while the glycemic index and load calculator computes the glycemic load of a food serving from GI and available carbohydrate. Find the rest of the food collection — recipes, drinks, and party planning — in the Food collection.

Frequently asked questions
- How is the carbohydrate reference range calculated?
- The Mifflin equation estimates resting energy, the calculator rounds resting energy times the chosen scenario multiplier to get an estimated calorie scenario, and it converts 45% to 65% of that scenario to grams at 4 kcal per gram.
- Why does the lower bound stay at 130 grams?
- The lower result cannot fall below the adult carbohydrate RDA of 130 g per day. For the 30-year-old example with a 2,662 calorie scenario, the displayed reference range is 299 to 433 g per day.
- What age range does the calculator accept?
- It accepts ages 19 to 78, matching the age range reported for the Mifflin derivation sample, and US inputs are converted with 0.453592 kg per pound and 2.54 cm per inch. The result is a reference range for generally healthy adults, not a clinical diet prescription.
