Percent to Goal Calculator
Track how much progress you have made toward a measurable target. This works for savings goals, fundraising, project tasks, habit streaks, fitness milestones, sales quotas, or any objective with a current value and a goal value.
How to use this calculator
Enter the Current value and Goal value. The goal value must not be zero. The calculator returns Progress or Goal exceeded, plus current progress, goal, remaining amount, and percent remaining.
Formula
If you have 750 toward a 1,000 goal, the calculation is 750 ÷ 1000 × 100 = 75%. The remaining amount is 250, and the percent remaining is 25%.
Interpreting your progress
A result under 100% means the goal is not yet complete. Exactly 100% means the target is reached. A result over 100% means you exceeded the target, which can be useful for stretch goals or overfunded campaigns.
Percent alone does not say whether you are on schedule. Compare it with your deadline or expected pace. Related tools include the percentage calculator, average percentage calculator, percent off calculator, and savings goal calculator.
Common mistakes
- Using remaining amount instead of completed progress.
- Leaving an old goal value in place.
- Comparing goals with different deadlines using percent alone.
