- Does it use sample or population standard deviation?
- It uses sample variance and sample standard deviation whenever there is more than one value. That means it divides squared deviations by one less than the sample size. With exactly one value, sample variance and sample standard deviation are reported as not available.
- How is the median calculated?
- The calculator sorts the values from smallest to largest. If the count is odd, the median is the middle sorted value. If the count is even, the median is the average of the two middle sorted values, which can produce a value not originally in the data.
