Converted flow rate

Inputs ↓
1 m³/s equals
60,000.000 L/min
Cubic meters per second (m³/s)
1.000000 m³/s
Liters per minute (L/min)
60,000.000 L/min
Gallons per minute (gal/min)
15,850.323 gal/min
Cubic feet per minute (ft³/min)
2,118.880 ft³/min

Converts through m³/s using exact dimensional factors for L/min, US gal/min, and ft³/min.

Enter a value in the selected flow rate unit.

Results update as you type.

Worked example

value: 25 · fromUnit: gpm · toUnit: lpm

Result: 94.635 L/min

Try it →

The gallon option means U.S. liquid gallons. The converter changes each rate to m³/s, then divides by the target factor.

UnitExact dimensional factor to m³/s
m³/s1
L/min0.001 ÷ 60
US gal/min0.003785411784 ÷ 60 = 0.0000630901964
ft³/min0.3048³ ÷ 60 = 0.0004719474432

target=value×source factortarget factor\text{target}=\frac{\text{value}\times\text{source factor}}{\text{target factor}}

For example, 25 US gal/min equals 94.6352946 L/min before rounding. There are no arbitrary mode-dependent engineering maxima; equivalent valid numeric values are treated consistently. Negative values, unknown units, invalid numeric inputs, and conversions that produce numbers too large to represent are rejected. This converts volume per time only, not pressure or mass flow.

Related: the PSI to GPM calculator relates pressure to flow, the speed converter handles length-per-time rates, and the gallons to liters calculator covers the gallon and liter units used here.

Keep the time denominator visible

Read both the volume unit and the time unit when choosing From and To. Two labels using liters can still describe different rates if one is per second and the other per minute. The result is a rate; calculating total delivered volume requires a duration and a decision about whether that rate stays constant.

Frequently asked questions

What arithmetic does this calculator use?

The method and defining factors are shown on the page. Arithmetic retains the full factor and rounds only the display.

What inputs are rejected?

Negative values, invalid numeric inputs, unknown unit selections, and values whose converted results are too large to represent are rejected.
