- Which angle units does this calculator convert?
- The form converts degrees, radians, gradians, and turns. It does not directly include arcminutes or arcseconds in the selectable units, so DMS work should use the linked DMS tools. It multiplies the input by the ratio of the source unit's radian factor to the target unit's radian factor.
- Why are radians the bridge unit?
- Radians are the natural angular unit for trigonometry because a radian relates arc length to radius on a circle. The calculator stores each supported unit as a multiplier into radians, then uses the ratio between the selected source and target factors without rounding an intermediate radian value.
- How many degrees are in one turn?
- One turn is a complete rotation, equal to 360 degrees, 2 pi radians, or 400 gradians. The calculator accepts turns as ordinary numbers, so 0.25 turns becomes a right angle and 2 turns becomes two full rotations rather than being reduced to a single circle.
